What is this project?

Planning Aid Wales has been commissioned by Conwy County Borough Council to research development opportunities for communities in the catchment areas of Clocaenog Forest and Brenig Wind Farms. The aims of the project will be to help you start to:
  • Understand the needs and wants of people in your communities,
  • Build a clear picture about the main challenges and opportunities facing your area(s),
  • Identify projects and activities that could be funded,
  • Prepare a plan ‘template’ that can be used by each community independently or working together to create your own plans.

What will the outputs of the project be?

By 31st December, Planning Aid Wales will prepare a ‘Conwy Wledig Development Options Report’.  This report will include:

  • A profile of the entire area
  • Short ‘starter’ profiles of each community that you can build on in future
  • Guidance on creating a Community Plan / Place Plan
  • A template action plan that you can use to develop your own plan.
  • Case studies on a range of community projects that have been funded by renewable energy schemes.
